The Bible teaches us that we must recognize we are sinners and need forgiveness.

Then, admit our sins to Jesus, ‘If we freely admit our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us of everything wrong.’ 1 John 1:9

John 1:12 says, we must personally receive Him, ‘to as many as receive Him, to them He gave the right to become God’s children.’

‘Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I need forgiveness. I believe you are the Son of God and You died on the cross for my sins. Forgive me now Lord and cleanse me. Come into my heart and give me a new life. Thank you Jesus for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen.’
